Discover fresh croissants and artisan pastries in Birmingham through a genuine customer experience at AQ Foodhall, featuring buttery layers, quality ingredients, and expertly paired coffee.
I was watching YouTube when a croissant made me hungry.
One evening, I was scrolling through YouTube Shorts when a video of freshly baked croissants stopped me in my tracks. I know that sounds ridiculous, but there’s something about watching perfectly baked pastries come out of the oven that immediately makes you want one for yourself. The golden layers, the buttery texture, and that satisfying crisp exterior looked incredible.
What started as a quick scroll turned into twenty minutes of watching pastry videos. By the end of it, I had one thought: I needed to find a good croissant in Birmingham. After looking around and reading a few recommendations, one name kept appearing — AQ Foodhall. I’d heard of it before but had never actually visited. A few days later, I decided to visit and I’m really glad I did.
My First Croissant Experience at AQ Foodhall
The moment my croissant arrived, I could smell the buttery aroma before taking the first bite. It looked beautifully baked — golden on the outside, delicate layers throughout, fresh and inviting.
When I finally tasted it, I understood why people get excited about good pastries. The outside had a light crispness, the inside remained soft, airy, and rich with flavour. It didn’t feel heavy, it didn’t feel dry, it simply tasted fresh — the kind of freshness that’s difficult to fake. As I sat there enjoying it with a coffee, I realised this wasn’t just about eating a pastry. It was about slowing down and enjoying the moment.
If you’re curious about what makes their pastries so special, I’d recommend reading more about AQ Foodhall’s croissants here — it’s amazing.
The Perfect Pairing: Coffee and Pastries
One thing that surprised me was how well the coffee complemented the pastries. The rich coffee balanced the buttery sweetness perfectly. Together they created the kind of breakfast experience that makes you want to sit back and take your time. If you’re someone who enjoys artisan pastries and quality coffee, it’s a combination that’s difficult to beat.
Inspired by What I Saw Online
It’s funny to think that this whole experience started because of a YouTube video. A few seconds of pastry content turned into a visit that introduced me to one of the most enjoyable pastry experiences I’ve had in Birmingham.
Sometimes social media creates unrealistic expectations. This wasn’t one of those times. The reality genuinely lived up to the inspiration.
